What to put on a birthday invitation
Whose birthday, and which one
A name and, if the guest of honour does not mind, the number. "Mari turns 40" says more than "a party".
A start time, and an end time if there is one
An end time helps guests plan the babysitter and the last bus. For an open-ended evening, leave it out.
The address, with a map
The invitation shows a map and a directions link under the address. Use the "Getting there" note for parking, the door code or the floor.
When you need an answer by
Set an RSVP deadline and the form closes itself after that day, with a polite note for anyone who is late.
Gifts, without the awkward question
Link a wishlist and guests reserve what they are bringing, so nobody turns up with the same present. Several guests can pool towards a bigger one.

Questions hosts ask
How far ahead should I send a birthday invitation?
Two to three weeks is usual, a little more around the holidays or for a big milestone. With a link you can send it as soon as the date is fixed and add details later — everyone sees the change.
Can guests reply without making an account?
Yes. They open the link, answer yes, no or maybe and give their name. There is nothing to install and no password to remember.
Can I keep a surprise party secret?
Invitation pages are never shown to search engines, and you can put yours behind a password so only the people you give it to can open it.
Is it free?
Designing the invitation and sharing it as a link is free, and so are the replies and the wishlist. You pay once, for that one event, only if you want kutsu.me to email the invitations and reminders, to ask guests more than their name, or to use a Premium design.
