How guests RSVP
Guests never need an account. A personal link or a verified email address is what connects a reply to the right person.
The guest's path
- Open the linkFrom an email, a message or a QR code. A password-protected invitation asks for the shared password, unless the link is personal to that guest.
- AnswerYes, no or maybe, with their name - plus a headcount and any questions you added.
- Give an email addressA guest who opened a personal link from your email, or who is signed in to kutsu, skips this. Everyone else adds their email address: it is how kutsu tells guests apart and how they find their way back to their answer.
- Check their inboxIf nobody on this invitation uses that address yet, the answer is saved at once and the email carries a link to change it. If the address is already on the invitation - on your invite list, or from an earlier answer - nothing is saved yet: the email asks them to confirm it is theirs, and they answer once it brings them back. Nobody can answer in someone else's name.
The personal token is kept in the guest's own browser, so they can reopen the invitation and change their answer whenever your settings allow it.
What you allow
On RSVP settings → Response options you decide whether Maybe is offered at all - turn it off when you need firm numbers for catering - and whether guests may change an answer they have already given. Yes and no are always available.
Guests you did not list
Anyone who has the link can answer, whether or not you added them to your invite list first. They appear in Responses alongside everyone else, which is exactly what you want when a link gets forwarded around a family.
